Job summary

John Charles Search seeks a senior Head of Contracts to lead the commercial and operational delivery of construction projects from award to completion. You will oversee contracts, programmes and risk, while driving performance and client satisfaction across multiple projects.

Lead Contracts Managers, coordinate with clients, consultants and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with British standards, CDM and procurement best practices. This is a high-responsibility leadership role.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Structural/Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Senior contracts or project management experience in construction.
• Proven leadership of contracts teams and multiple projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT or other contracts and administration.
• Full UK driving licence and CSCS Managers Card.
• Experience with procurement, variations and change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across contracts and project delivery.
• Oversee multiple construction projects from award to final account.
• Ensure safety, programme adherence and budget compliance.
• Lead contract performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor Contracts Managers and project teams.
• Manage client, chartered and supplier relationships and risk.
