Job summary

Thales is hiring a Senior Contracts Manager in the UK to lead commercial aspects of complex bids and contracts within defence and technology programmes. You will manage relationships with customers, partners and internal teams, providing guidance on contract interpretation, governance and risk mitigation.

Security clearances may be required for project eligibility. The role offers exposure to international programmes, strategic bids and cross-functional collaboration across the Legal & Contracts

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience managing and negotiating complex commercial contracts within regulated or technically complex industries.
• Strong commercial acumen balancing contractual risk, objectives and customer relationships.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence at all levels.
• Experience supporting bids, proposals and contract change activities from pre-contract through delivery.
• Proactive, strategic approach to problem solving translating complex requirements into practical commercial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the contractual and commercial aspects of complex bids, proposals and contract negotiations, ensuring commercially robust outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors and internal stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies to support delivery.
• Provide commercial guidance to bid and project teams, including contract interpretation, governance and compliance with policies.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to development of the Legal & Contracts function.
