Job summary

Portakabin Ltd is seeking a Contract Manager to lead national projects within the GB Healthcare team. The role is permanent with travel nationwide and regular overnight stays, offering up to £67,000 salary plus a 10% on-target bonus.

You will own delivery of large contracts, manage budgets and risks, and build strong client relationships while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams for successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large or complex construction or modular projects.
• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Project management qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial control, cost management, and final accounts negotiation.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership for the successful project management and delivery of allocated large or complex contracts, ensuring completion safely, on time, to specification, to budget and to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Act as a subject matter expert in project delivery, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to support best practice across the function.
• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve contract delivery objectives, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities and deliverables.
• Maintain or improve project margins and cash flow through effective planning, budget management, risk control and commercial decision-making.
• Produce regular reports and updates for stakeholders, providing analysis of progress against programme, costs and key milestones.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, maintaining an up-to-date risk register and acting on opportunities to improve outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, managing variations and resolving contractual conflicts and disputes where required.
• Build strong customer relationships, acting as the main point of contact for allocated contracts.
• Support bid and pre-construction activity as required, contributing operational expertise.
• Provide coaching, support and, where applicable, line management for professionals within the contract team.
