Job summary

Proxima is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead complex client workstreams and manage senior stakeholders, delivering innovative solutions across commercial, sourcing, and supplier initiatives. You will mentor junior consultants and contribute to solution design within our global team.

In this hybrid Cardiff-based role, you’ll collaborate with client teams, drive outcomes, and travel domestically and internationally as required to support delivery and team collaboration.

The opportunity

As a Senior Consultant at Proxima in our IT and Technology practice, you will lead complex workstreams and manage senior stakeholders while delivering innovative solutions and mentoring junior consultants. You will be part of client-facing teams delivering high-impact commercial, sourcing, and supplier initiatives, supporting the development of insights, contributing to solution design, and playing an active role in delivering outcomes, not just recommendations.

This is not a passive learning role. At Proxima, we are practitioner-consultants. You will build experience quickly, take responsibility early, and work alongside clients to deliver real, measurable change.

What you’ll do

Support delivery across client engagements

• Experience leading teams and workstreams or projects across complex engagements
• Assist with opportunity identification, supplier research, and commercial analysis.
• Identify opportunities supporting client value and revenue growth.

Management and career development

• Coach and develop junior consultants.
• Contribute to Proxima category thought leadership and IP.
• Commercial acumen and comfort with ambiguity.

Engage and collaborate with stakeholders

• Work directly with senior client stakeholders to gather requirements and align objectives.
• Communicate findings clearly and professionally with team members and senior client stakeholders.
• Lead workshops, working sessions, and day-to-day client interactions.

Work in a global, flexible model

• Operate in a hybrid environment, balancing client, home, and office-based work.
• Work closely with our global team, with the flexibility to spend time in other regions as required.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support client delivery and team collaboration across our global technology team.

What you bring

Experience and skills

• Experience in any of: Enterprise Software, IT Services, and/or Cloud Hosting.
• Experience in consulting, procurement, supply chain, or a related analytical role.
• Strong knowledge of indirect procurement, ideally gained in a consultancy environment or working alongside consultants.
• Experience with spend profiles over $50M annual
• Experience supporting project delivery and managing stakeholder engagement across workstreams.
• Strong analytical capability and confidence working with data.
