Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Consultant to lead and develop the Community Eating Disorders Service. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, provide psychiatric leadership, and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The role involves oversight of medical monitoring, collaboration with acute services, and guiding primary care management to support patients in less restrictive environments.

Qualifications

• Fully GMC registered and eligible for GMC Specialist Register.
• Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (or equivalent).
• Eligible for Section 12 Approval / Approved Clinician or planning to apply once in post.
• Experience in adult psychiatry with eating disorders and risk assessment within last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant leadership and support development of Eating Disorder services.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of complex referrals with psychiatric review.
• Lead monitoring and treatment of physical complications of eating disorders in collaboration with other health professionals.
• Supervise the medical monitoring team and manage high-risk patients.
• Provide clinical advice to primary care to manage patients in least restrictive settings.
• Work with the Team Manager to ensure KPI and national targets are met.
