Are you ready to take the next step in your consultancy career? Do you enjoy leading on complex projects, working directly with clients, and mentoring junior colleagues? Looking for an opportunity to develop further within the APEM Group while supporting some of the UK’s most exciting offshore renewable projects?

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Major Projects team. As a Senior Consultant, you’ll deliver consent and post‑consent compliance workstreams, provide strategic and technical advice, and lead client and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the division and the wider APEM Group to identify project risks, find solutions, and ensure smooth delivery—while also mentoring and supporting Consultant‑grade staff.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • Degree‑qualified in an environmental discipline (ideally marine sciences)
  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience (e.g. marine science, renewables, consultancy, or related sector)
  • Understanding of marine renewable technologies and their environmental interactions
  • Knowledge of the EIA process and offshore consenting requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project‑related tools
  • A proactive, solution‑focused approach with confidence working independently and collaboratively
What helps you stand out:
  • MSc in a relevant environmental/marine science subject
  • Experience in consent management or HSE for offshore renewables
  • Previous experience working in environmental consultancy or with a developer

You’ll have the opportunity to step into a more senior role while continuing your career journey within the APEM Group. You’ll gain exposure to complex, high‑value offshore projects, work closely with leading developers, and build your consultancy expertise in both technical delivery and client‑facing engagement. This is your chance to progress within the Group, grow your influence, and help shape the future of offshore renewables.

You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, many of our employees have worked on projects that have been of personal interest to them. We match this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, from private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
