Allianz UK is seeking a Senior New Business Construction Underwriter to join our expert-led Commercial team in a hybrid role based in Birmingham or Bristol. You will underwrite construction risks, price accordingly, and collaborate with brokers to secure profitable, sustainable business.

You will build strong broker/client relationships, contribute to underwriting strategy, and support colleagues across levels. Hybrid pattern with 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in construction underwriting and casualty/liability covers.
• Proven ability to underwrite new business and price risks.
• Strong negotiation and broker engagement skills.
• Analytical mindset for assessing complex risks and market conditions.
• Commercial focus on profitable growth and client retention.
• Self-motivated team player capable of mentoring colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite construction risks across new business to meet growth targets.
• Assess and price risk in line with Allianz appetite and strategy.
• Build and maintain broker and client relationships through engagement.
• Negotiate terms and pricing with brokers to secure sustainable business.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the market.
• Contribute to regional underwriting strategy and initiatives.
• Provide support to colleagues on lower license levels and QA processes.
• Collaborate with Claims, Operations, and Risk teams.
• Represent Allianz positively in broker and client meetings.
