Job Description

Our client is a front‑runner in data centre construction, recognised for delivering large‑scale, technically complex builds across the UK and Northern Europe. With a growing portfolio and a reputation for excellence, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to take a pivotal role in their expanding project teams.

The Role

As Senior Construction Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle‑from groundworks through to final fit‑out and handover. Reporting to the Project Director and working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be instrumental in driving programme delivery, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule alignment across high‑specification data centre builds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site activities on data centre projects from enabling works through commissioning and client handover
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to meet project milestones
  • Ensure strict compliance with health & safety, quality standards, and environmental regulations
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, consultants, and client teams to ensure smooth delivery and communication
  • Drive daily/weekly progress meetings and reporting to identify risks and maintain momentum
  • Monitor site logistics, sequencing, and technical requirements to optimise delivery strategies
  • Troubleshoot construction challenges quickly and effectively, maintaining focus on programme and cost
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in data centre construction or similarly complex high‑tech/mission critical environments
  • Demonstrable experience leading large‑scale build programmes from start to finish
  • Solid understanding of MEP interfaces, programme management, and construction sequencing
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A flexible approach to travel, with projects located across the UK and mainland Europe
  • Relevant construction or engineering qualifications; SMSTS or equivalent essential
