Job summary

Role Overview

Senior Configuration Analyst – two positions. Fixed term, supporting Epic electronic patient record across key clinical areas such as chemotherapy workflows and outpatient services.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the delivery of the Trust’s new electronic patient record (DHR) system
  • Working on several integrated areas to ensure a coordinated approach across all teams
  • Working in partnership with our partners, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Epic
  • Analysing and suggesting ways to improve current workflows and working practices
  • Facilitating agreement for changes in working practices with appropriate stakeholders
  • Matching agreed workflows with those already built into DHR system and/or configuring the DHR system using configuration tools to tailor the system
  • Assisting with testing of the systems to ensure it is safe, usable, secure and robust
  • Support the ongoing optimisation and configuration of the Trust’s Epic system across multiple key applications
  • Work on integrated workflows, ensuring joined‑up processes across departments
  • Lead on documentation and analysis of complex clinical and administrative workflows
  • Provide line management and supervision to Configuration Analysts within the team
  • Act as a subject matter expert, investigating issues, resolving queries, and engaging with end users to ensure the system is aligned to operational needs and best practice
  • Support the design and delivery of end‑user training and offer on‑call support when required
  • Gain additional Epic certifications where appropriate, supported by the Trust
  • Ensure configuration meets legal, clinical safety and regulatory standards while delivering measurable benefits to users and patients
Qualifications
  • Certified or accredited in at least one Epic application – preferably in Cadence, Referrals, Springboard, Grand Central, Beacon, Willow or Research
  • Strong track record of collaborating with operational teams and managing configuration change in a live EPR environment
  • Line management experience and ability to supervise a team of configuration analysts
Work Environment

Hybrid capacity – the successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity and is not seeking a fully remote position.
