Senior Concept Engineer

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Concept Engineer. This role will require strong technical and creative skills in the conception, development and evaluation of special project concepts. The candidate should also have a demonstrable track record in taking concepts from clean sheet to production, for major OEMs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with wider stakeholders across the business
• Developing technical proposals for new vehicle concepts, including package, layout, technical concept proposals, concept validation using virtual or physical tools
• Applying knowledge of all engineering systems in addition to an awareness of manufacturing methods and constraints, plus legislative requirements
• Resolution of technical product conflicts and escalation for decision
• A high bias towards the chassis, powertrain and underbody elements of the vehicle concept
• Developing commodity and synergy strategies in support of cost optimisation
• Evaluation of Concepts as a part of a wider business and product strategy

Qualifications

• 8 years + Concept Engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent Catia skills for generation and manipulation of CAD data
• Keen problem solver with a knack for identifying and resolving challenges that may arise throughout a project.
• Positive attitude and self-starter with the ability to forge relationships with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders.
