Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Compliance Administrator and Data Protection Officer to join their Isle of Man office on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role is integral in supporting regulatory and legislative adherence across the business, maintaining a strong internal control framework, and promoting best practice guidance. The position also involves full responsibility for data protection matters, with the opportunity to progress into a DMLRO and, in time, MLRO role.

Job Duties
  • Provide compliance and data protection guidance to internal staff
  • Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments
  • Manage and respond to data subject requests (e.g. access, rectification, deletion)
  • Train employees on data protection policies and practices
  • Act as the primary contact for data protection issues with regulatory authorities
  • Ensure timely reporting and handling of data breaches
  • Conduct regular data protection audits and monitor related risks
  • Perform risk cycle file reviews
  • Review KYC/CDD documentation for individuals and entities related to client structures
  • Conduct screening checks and internet searches on relevant parties
  • Ensure compliance of KYC/CDD with internal policy and legal/regulatory standards
  • Carry out PEP screening and enhanced due diligence where required
  • Assist with drafting policies, procedures, and internal audit activities
  • Support with new business screening processes
  • Promote a positive culture of governance and compliance throughout the business
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of five GCSEs (grades A–C / 4–9), including Maths and English
  • Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience in compliance and the regulatory environment
  • Familiarity with offshore trust and corporate structures
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Interest in ongoing professional development, ideally working towards ICA accreditation
  • High levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Ability to initiate and manage projects independently
