Job summary

KHR – Recruitment Specialists in Tonbridge is seeking an experienced Company Accountant to own the UK finance function within an established engineering business. This standalone role combines hands-on accounting with strategic reporting and commercial insight.

You will report to the Managing Director, balance day-to-day accounting with management reporting, forecasting and cross-functional support, and work with the US operation on group reporting using SAP Business One.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior finance role with ownership of the function
• Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting
• Experience managing a broad range of finance responsibilities independently
• Commercial acumen and ability to work with senior management
• Experience with VAT, payroll, cash flow and year-end accounts
• Strong Excel skills and ERP/finance system experience
• SAP Business One experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage purchase and sales ledgers, bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
• Oversee VAT, payroll, and statutory requirements
• Produce cash-flow reports and forecasts
• Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
• Maintain robust financial controls and reporting
• Collaborate with US operation on group reporting
• Use SAP Business One to manage and report financial information
