Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Social Worker for a maternity cover role, fixed-term until 18 July 2027. The post requires Social Work England registration and solid experience in adult social care to support people in the community and hospital settings.

You’ll supervise and mentor colleagues, shape practice, and foster a learning-focused team culture. Negotiable hours offer flexibility to manage caseloads and ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England
• Experience in adult social care and community/hospital settings preferred
• Court work experience and safeguarding knowledge advantageous
• Strong IT and written communication skills required

Responsibilities

• Carry out person-centred assessments in community and hospital settings
• Undertake court work, prepare reports and present evidence
• Co-produce care and support plans and review outcomes
• Participate in the duty rota for urgent and complex cases
• Support supervision and development of colleagues to foster a learning culture
