A community-focused partnership in Liverpool City Region is seeking a Senior Community Engagement Officer for the Blackpool GreenWave initiative. The successful candidate will lead a strategic volunteering programme that empowers local residents and organizations to enhance the natural environment. This role offers a competitive salary of £30,640 – £33,815, with a full-time commitment of 36.25 hours per week. Join a passionate team dedicated to creating a greener, healthier Blackpool. Full Time: 36.25 hours per week
Pattern of Work: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (includes 45 min unpaid lunch break). Flexible start and finish times to be agreed with line manager
Base: @TheGrange, Dinmore Avenue, Blackpool, FY3 7RW
Work Locations: Travel across Blackpool and occasional travel beyond as part of the Nature Towns and Cities network
Fixed Term Contract: Until June 2028 with potential extension, subject to available funding

In this exciting leadership role, you’ll design and launch a strategic volunteering programme that brings together residents, businesses, schools, charities and partner organisations. You’ll inspire action, forge meaningful partnerships, and empower people from all backgrounds to take ownership of their green spaces. With the support of a skilled conservation and ecology team—and working closely with Blackpool Council—you’ll be instrumental in driving community-led change that tackles health inequalities, restores biodiversity and strengthens climate resilience.
