Job summary

Thirteen Group is seeking a Principal Commercial Solicitor to join our Legal team, providing commercial legal leadership across procurement, contracts and supplier arrangements. You’ll advise senior leaders and shape governance with a clear commercial focus.

This hybrid role requires 2-3 days per week at our Hudson Quay office in Middlesbrough with remaining time working from home. You’ll navigate high-value contracts and complex procurement to protect value and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experienced solicitor with commercial contracts experience.
• Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts with risk focus.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on complex commercial, procurement and contractual matters.
• Lead legal strategy for high-value contracts and supplier relationships.
• Draft and negotiate complex contracts protecting value and Thirteen's interests.
• Handle disputes, variations, extensions, and termination matters.
• Advise on procurement routes, governance and commercial structures.
• Assess risk and direct dispute and formal proceedings.
