Job summary

Reed is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our client in the construction sector. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for leading and developing the commercial function and overseeing the surveying and estimating teams.

The successful candidate will guide strategy, drive profitability and cash generation, oversee tendering, subcontract procurement, and client relationships while mentoring the team as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial/estimating teams.
• Strong contractual knowledge and risk management.
• Proven track record in electrical contracting or related site services.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial department across surveying and estimating.
• Provide strategic commercial direction to MD/Board.
• Drive profitability, cash generation, and project performance.
• Oversee monthly applications for payment and cashflow management.
• Manage client relationships and final account negotiations.
• Oversee tender submissions and review contract terms.
• Identify risks and opportunities in commercial activities.
• Protect margins and oversee change control on live projects.
