Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Cost Consultant to lead cost management and commercial services across rail projects in the UK, including HS2. You will guide teams, develop project costings and budgets, and advise clients on cost performance and value across the full lifecycle.

With responsibility for delivering high-quality cost management, you will manage stakeholders and drive standards, ensuring successful outcomes and profitable project delivery for major rail infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
  • Chartered status or working towards a recognised professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience delivering cost and commercial management on major rail/infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the full project lifecycle from business case to completion.
  • Experience in complex stakeholder environments, ideally including HS2 and major rail programmes.
  • Proven leadership, communication and client management skills.
  • CSCS card holder or ability to obtain one.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to support the successful delivery of major rail programmes, including HS2 and other nationally significant infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to work with leading clients, influence project outcomes and play a key role in delivering complex schemes that create a lasting impact.

As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will lead the delivery of commercial and cost management services across the full project lifecycle. You'll work closely with clients and project teams, providing strategic advice, driving project performance and ensuring successful outcomes in terms of cost, quality and value.

Role accountabilities
  • Leading, coaching, and developing team members to enhance cost management service delivery in the rail sector.

  • Assuring compliance with contracts concerning project delivery parameters and cost management.
  • Analysing complex cost data and providing recommendations for project decision-making.
  • Supporting the development of current cost and commercial management systems tailored to rail projects.
  • Driving innovation in cost management to improve services and increase team contribution.
  • Building valued relationships with senior clients and stakeholders for client satisfaction and business opportunities in the rail sector.
Qualifications & Experience
