Job summary

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a senior site practitioner to provide clinical leadership and support across clinical teams. The role focuses on safe patient care, efficient patient flow, and achieving national and trust targets in emergency and elective care.

Based at Cross site, the post will support the Head and Deputy Head of Site Practitioners and the Emergency Operational Lead in delivering high-quality patient outcomes, managing risks, and guiding staff

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support across staff groups.
• Act as a clinical expert to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Manage clinical risk and address out-of-hours complaints.
• Triage acute in-patients and liaise with medical teams as needed.
• Work as part of the Hospital at Night team.
• Coordinate patient flow through hospital for elective and emergency admissions.
• Support delivery of emergency and elective care targets and KPIs.
• Respond to out-of-hours site management issues with the relevant manager.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to achieve performance targets.
• Represent management on site out-of-hours on behalf of line managers.
• Work with Senior Clinical Site Practitioners in 24-hour hospital management.
• Oversee bed stock use and optimise capacity for safe placements.
