Job summary

University Hospitals Tees is seeking an experienced Lead Clinical Safety Officer to lead clinical safety governance across the trust. This senior role ensures digital systems and transformation programmes are designed, implemented and maintained to protect patient safety and support high-quality care.

You will work with the CCIO, clinicians, digital teams and suppliers to provide expert leadership on risk management, hazard identification and safety cases, and to ensure compliance with national

Qualifications

• Must be a registered healthcare professional with extensive clinical safety experience.
• Strong background in digital health and risk management across large programmes.
• Experience leading governance and assurance across digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical safety governance across digital programmes and services.
• Ensure compliance with national standards including DCB0160 and DCB0129.
• Lead hazard identification workshops and maintain hazard logs.
• Provide expert advice to clinicians, operational teams, and suppliers on safety risks and mitigations.
• Develop and maintain clinical safety policies, processes, safety cases and governance.
• Monitor, report and escalate digital clinical safety risks through governance structures.
