Job description

The advertised post of Senior Clinical Fellow (Registrar) in Paediatrics is to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

The post offers clinical experience in a supportive General Paediatric unit with exposure to level 1 Neonates and is suitable to anyone interested in pursuing a career in Paediatrics.

This is a full time post and is part of full shift system, as 2nd on call, Middle Grade in Paediatrics with level 1 Neonatal care.

  • Recognition, assessment and management of unwell/sick children in acute/ambulatory setting
  • Neonatal assessments and resuscitation skills
  • Participate in the on call rota.
  • Conduct General Paediatric outpatient clinics under Consultant supervision
  • Participate in audits and current research projects
  • Participate in the teaching of resident doctors and Medical Students.
  • Involvement in Quality improvement projects
  • To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital.
  • To perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in conjunction, where practicable, with their colleagues
