A major healthcare service provider in Scotland seeks a Paediatric Neurosurgery Fellow to enhance skills in a critical service role. This position involves daily leadership in clinical service delivery, educating trainees, and opportunities for research. Candidates must hold GMC registration and complete specific training documentation. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
Shift pattern: on call 1 in 6
Post length: Fixed term 12 months
The post is intended for those who have completed general neurosurgical training and seek further sub‑specialist training in Paediatric Neurosurgery prior to a consultant appointment.
The successful candidate would be expected to take a lead in the delivery of the service on a daily basis and will participate on the consultant rota, with supervision provided. As part of the post the Fellow will play a key role in the supervision and education of neurosurgical trainees.
The unit has an established research and clinical audit programme and there are multiple opportunities to participate in research and presentation at national and international meetings.
This affords an excellent opportunity to develop the skills necessary to become a Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon.

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC Registration and a License to Practice.
