Job summary

A prominent NHS Trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified practitioner to provide clinical services in adult cardiothoracic intensive care. Responsibilities include managing post-operative care for transplant recipients and involvement in advanced cardiothoracic techniques. Candidates must have significant experience in cardiothoracic critical care. This position supports flexible working arrangements and is initially for 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 months of experience in cardiothoracic critical care.
  • Appointment for 6 months, extendable to 12 months based on performance.

Job description
Job Purpose

To provide clinical services in adult cardiothoracic intensive care in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Manage post‑operative critical care of heart and lung transplant recipients.
  • Be involved in the cardiogenic shock and eCPR programme.
  • Gain experience of VA‑ECMO, Impella, and ventricular assist devices.
  • Provide intensive care support for patients undergoing complex cardiothoracic surgery.
Eligibility & Training
  • NTN holder in year 4 or 5, CCST holder, or suitably qualified overseas trainee.
  • Minimum 4 months experience in cardiothoracic critical care.
  • Appointment for 6 months, extendable to 12 months based on performance and training needs.
Location

Harefield Hospital, Harefield, Kent. The post holder may work at any of the Trust’s sites as required.
