Job overview

Senior Clinical Fellow in Viral Hepatitis

The Royal Free London Viral Hepatitis Service provides care to one of the largest cohorts of viral hepatitis patients in the country. With the recent introduction of Emergency Department opt-out testing, the hepatitis B service is growing at ~400 new patients per year. The Royal Free Hospital is the hub of the North Central London and Hertfordshire Operational Delivery Network for the elimination of hepatitis C, delivering programs for earlier diagnosis of cirrhosis and liver cancer surveillance in hard-to-reach populations across the region.

Highly effective treatments and monitoring for liver disease complications require sustained patient engagement. The Viral Hepatitis Senior Clinical Fellow will develop new strategies to improve engagement in services across community and outpatient settings.

Reporting to the ODN and Viral Hepatitis clinical leads, the role is primarily based at the Royal Free Hospital with occasional travel to partner ODN Trusts and community sites. The post holder shares managerial responsibility over a data collection team and will have opportunities to learn extensive data analysis skills. This role is supported by the ODN Pathway coordinator, ODN Manager, CNS and clinical practitioner teams.
