A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Upper GI Surgery to join their team starting in April 2026. The ideal candidate will work at Registrar level, supporting clinical operations and participating in on-call duties. Strong experience in Upper GI Surgery is required, along with GMC registration. The role offers excellent teaching opportunities and a competitive salary, with potential earnings between £44,170 and £67,610 plus London Weighting.
A Senior Clinical Fellow is sought to work as part of the specialist Upper GI Surgery team at Imperial College NHS Trust starting in April 2026. The successful candidate will be a senior registrar equivalent with significant experience in Upper GI Surgery looking to further develop their knowledge and skills in this area. The candidate must have achieved, or be working towards their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent. Whilst the post is not formally recognised as a training post by the deanery, excellent teaching and training opportunities exist for the successful candidate.
The Upper GI surgical service moved to the Hammersmith (HH) site in March 2019. It is the regional upper GI cancer unit for north-west London and parts of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and offers a range of routine and highly specialised surgical procedures, including:
There are strong links with a vibrant gastro-intestinal physician unit which is the network centre for the management of early cancers, with excellent diagnostic and radiological input in a multi-professional setting.
The post holder is intended to work at Registrar level, supporting and aiding the clinical ward work, the Outpatient workload and Elective and Emergency operating of the Department. A pay banding supplement is payable for participation in the on-call rota at middle grade level.
The post holder will contribute to the General Surgery oncall at St Mary's Hospital.
