The paediatric department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS trust is currently recruiting for 2 enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Senior Clinical Fellows to join our team starting as soon as possible for 12 months with the possibility of further extension.
The positions require the post holders to work at middle grade level as part of the current on call Tier 2 rota for paediatric medicine. The post holders will join the clinical team and will contribute to the delivery and support of the paediatric service (including Level 2 critical care and a Paediatric Emergency Department). This post is suitable for candidates wishing to develop their general paediatric skills and knowledge in a wide range of paediatric subspecialties.

The post holder will join a team of West Midlands deanery senior and junior specialty trainees and provide cover on the Tier 2 rota. This includes covering inpatient wards, a level 2 paediatric critical care unit and children's emergency department. Successful candidates would be expected to contribute to the delivery of the paediatric service as well as participate in undergraduate and post graduate teaching.
There is a full shift system in operation which is EWTD compliant. The post holder will form part of this rota working shifts as designated on our paediatric wards/paediatriccritical care unit (High Dependency) and children's emergency department. The successful candidate will be part of a 1 in 12 rolling rota. Rota would be managed by the rota lead with support from medical workforce.
In addition to providing clinical cover, you would also be responsible for maintaining up to date clinical records, updating discharge summaries, and communication with parents and colleagues. Consultants are present on site from 0900 - 2200 hours on weekdays and 0900 - 1700 hours on weekends and bank holidays. All consultants are easily approachable out of hours.
