Job Overview

Job Title: Clinical Fellow Obs & Gynae

Band: ST3-5

Hours of Work (p/w): 40 hours

Service Centre/Directorate: Women's Services Obs & Gynaecology

Base: St George's Hospital / St George's University of London as appropriate

Main Duties
  • Work the general obstetrics and gynaecology rota, covering a 1 in 8 on call rota on the junior registrar rota (ST3-5).
  • On call rota comprises 1 in 8 weekday days (Monday‑Thursday 0830‑2100), 1 in 8 weekday nights (Monday‑Thursday 2000‑0830), and 1 in 8 weekend days (Saturday‑Sunday 0830‑2000) and nights (Friday‑Sunday 2000‑0830). When covering the Acute Gynaecology Unit, a weekend on call may be required.
  • Daytime duties on the junior registrar rota include antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology ward rounds, gynaecology and antenatal clinics, gynaecology theatres and elective caesarean section lists.
  • Daytime delivery suite cover is by a junior registrar (ST3‑5) and consultant. Daytime gynaecology cover is provided by acute gynaecology fellows running the acute gynaecology unit between 0830 and 2100 daily.
  • Attend weekly training sessions in intrapartum fetal monitoring using a fetal physiology.
