Applications are invited for a full‑time Senior Clinical Fellow post for 6 months in response to service needs.
This is a 6‑month post working in the Department of Neurology as a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3/IMT3 equivalent). The postholder will work alongside neurology trainees and junior doctors, with clinical responsibilities that include clerking non‑elective patients admitted under neurology, providing clinical support in the day‑to‑day care and management of neurology inpatients under the supervision of neurology consultants, and completing electronic discharge summaries. The ability to perform lumbar punctures is highly desirable.
The postholder will be expected to participate in the neurology on‑call rota which consists of day shifts on Saturday and Sunday one weekend in six, under the supervision of the on‑call consultant. Provision will be made to allow participation in some outpatient neurology clinics. There is a weekly educational departmental meeting, and an excellent neuroradiology meeting each Thursday morning in which inpatient neuroradiology is discussed.
The postholder will also undertake some General Internal Medicine work: two 2‑week blocks in acute medicine (no nights) within the 6‑month period.
Full GMC registration with licence to practise required on application.
