A major NHS trust in Greater London is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Haematology to join their Oncology and Haematology Department at Northwick Park Hospital. The role involves both clinical and research responsibilities, providing an excellent opportunity for those aiming to develop their haematology skills. Candidates should hold full GMC registration and have experience in medicine, with prior haematology experience being advantageous. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the LNWH NHS trust for a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Haematology to work in our newly formed Directorate of Oncology and Haematology based at Northwick Park Hospital (NPH). This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and vibrant department in the further expansion and development of clinical and diagnostic Haematology within the North West London sector. The appointees will join 7 Specialist Trainees in delivering clinical, laboratory, diagnostic, administrative, research and teaching responsibilities. The successful applicant must have an interest in Haematology and acute medicine with experience in the management of patients. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to pursue a career in haematology and develop the skills and experience required for this.
The day-to-day role will be similar to the other haematology SpRs and include inpatient and outpatient work. The appointee will have access to weekly morphology teaching and weekly seminar teaching with the other haematology SpRs. There is an opportunity to learn to perform bone marrow aspirates / trephines if the candidate has not yet been trained in this procedure.
The successful candidate will work closely with the haematology team and participate in the haematology registrar on-call rota. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to gain comprehensive experience in haematology. The majority of previous candidates in recent years have gone on to successfully apply for a UK training programme in haematology.
Full GMC registration and experience in medicine are required. Previous haematology experience is desirable.
