A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine for a 12-month fixed term contract. The role provides opportunities to work with experienced consultants, participate in teaching, and gain extensive experience across various medical conditions. Ideal for those bridging core and specialty training. The position involves inpatient care, multidisciplinary meetings, and developing patient management plans.
We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow in Geriatric Medicine on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is an ideal opportunity to work in a busy but well supported department with a team of highly motivated consultants and residents. The successful applicants will gain experience across a wide variety of medical conditions and will have access to the full range of in-house educational opportunities afforded to other trainees.
These posts will be well suited to those looking to bridge the gap between core and speciality training or for trainees who simply wish to gain more experience in Geriatric Medicine. Our department has a well‑developed front door admissions avoidance service as well as integrated services such as care home and community geriatric medicine.
The successful applicants will be able to participate in the department's teaching, audit, and educational activities. In addition, the department will be able to support exposure to other specialist clinics. The Senior Clinical Fellow will primarily be based on the geriatric medicine wards with responsibility for the ongoing care of patients on the 32‑beded ward. The exact pattern of working days will be decided with the successful applicants with the aim of providing as much cover and continuity as their resource allows. They will enable rapid discharge and provide timely review of patients under their care.
The post holder will participate in HSEP ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings. Working with the ward MDT and community teams they will develop person‑centred plans for the management plans for in‑patient care and post‑discharge.
