Job description
Overview

We are seeking a registrar grade doctor to join our team at St Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department. This one year fixed‑term post is located in a Central London Major Trauma Centre within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Full shift pattern, including out-of-hours work with a 1 in 3 weekend commitment.
  • Provide 24‑hour trauma and emergency medicine care with consultant led and remote support.
  • Lead and supervise junior colleagues and support trainee development.
  • Complete education and training supervision, including work‑based assessments and quality improvement projects.
  • Participate in teaching programme, trauma governance and monthly ED governance meetings.
  • Utilise protected non‑clinical time for research, audit, ultrasound, simulation or other clinical interests.
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice.
  • Registrar grade or equivalent, 12 months emergency medicine experience post‑foundation training.
  • Minimum 6 months NHS experience.
  • ALS provider or instructor status; ATLS/APLS provider or instructor desirable.
  • Ability to supervise junior colleagues; leadership experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of QI, audit and research principles; evidence of participation desirable.
