Cross‑Site working across both sites
We are excited to present this unique opportunity for a ST2/3 level doctor with moderate experience in NHS Emergency Medicine. This is a chance to continue to develop your clinical skills in Emergency Medicine and widen your portfolio for a future career in ED. This post will allow the successful appointee the ability to enhance their CV, and would be particularly suitable for someone who wishes to have some hours allocated to starting the MRCEM process and to complete relevant life‑support courses.
The successful candidates will work within the Tier‑3 workforce on a 24hr rota across 7 days a week. Candidates will be allocated 15% of their hours to their development and work towards the MRCEM process or any relevant courses.
The successful candidate will be fully involved in all aspects of the work of the department under the supervision of the consultants and will attend to the initial assessment and treatment of the patients attending the department across the spectrum of Emergency Medicine. The post holder will participate in the Education and Training, Clinical Audit, Clinical Risk Management and the Clinical Governance activities of the Department and Trust ensuring full and proper records are completed for this purpose.
We have proximity to the mountains of the Lake District and major trunk motorways ensuring a regular influx of trauma patients. The unit is a trauma + unit in the Northern Trauma Network. We have admitting routes for major trauma patients with chest and head injuries who do not require MTC level care. The department accepts patients from various helicopter emergency medical schemes and has its own landing pad!
