A healthcare provider in Wales is looking for an experienced middle-grade anaesthetist to join their team. The position offers fixed-term employment with a comprehensive benefits package and extensive development opportunities. Candidates will provide anaesthetic support across multiple hospital sites, including emergency and planned care. Interested applicants should ensure they meet GMC registration requirements. Base: The Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran (working across all sites as required). Fixed Term Contract for 6 months initially, with potential for extension (following formal review). This post is not recognised for training.
The post is for middle grade tiers within the department of Anaesthetics and Critical Care at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The department provides an anaesthetic service for planned theatre lists across a number of hospital sites within South‑East Wales, comprising more than 30 theatres and also maternity, critical care and acute and chronic pain management. There is 24‑hour cover for emergency surgery, trauma and obstetrics at the Grange University Hospital, as well as a 24 bed Critical Care Unit. At the Royal Gwent site, a 9‑bed post‑operative care unit (POCU) which provides 24‑hour care of high acuity elective surgical patients.
Providing anaesthetic and critical care support across the hospital sites, including planned theatre lists, emergency coverage, post‑operative care and critical care unit support.
