Job description
Overview

We are looking for Senior Clinical Fellows to join our Critical Care Services team to enable Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust provide a first class anaesthetic service at both New Cross and Cannock Chase Hospitals.

Eligibility and Experience

Suitable for UK and overseas doctors seeking clinical experience, a high quality training, enhanced qualifications and career progression. Posts will be offered equivalent to the Specialist Registrar equivalent grades.

The post holder will be working with a team of Consultants, Specialist Trainees, Clinical Fellows, Core Trainees and Foundation Year Trainees. Each post has a generic clinical component in Acute/General Medicine and the duties will be on the ED/MAU as described in the information pack.

Responsibilities
  • To agree a contract of employment.
  • To comply with all GMC regulations such as laid out in “Good Medical Practice”.
  • To observe the Trust’s agreed policies and procedures, in particular in relation to managing staff, and to follow the Trust’s Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions.
  • To take responsibility for your own Health & Safety complying with any safe working arrangements, policies and procedures which are in place.
  • To comply with all Trust requirements of appraisal, assessment and of the proposed medical training programme as stipulated by the programme leads.
  • In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, and commensurate with your grade, to play a full part in the supervision and support of other members of your team including more junior medical staff.
  • In conjunction with colleagues, to take responsibility for the best use of departmental staffing and other resources to ensure the maximum efficiency of the department.
Qualifications

The post holder will have an agreed experience in the specialty of their choice including outpatient clinics, ward cover, specialist in-patient reviews and procedures, audit and research. The precise role within each team and the proportion of clinical time spent between the two components would depend on previous experience and qualifications of the candidate and the specialty chosen. For candidates with more than 3 years of post-qualification experience, MRCP or equivalent qualifications or full time research experience, Senior Fellowship position can be offered.
