Job description

We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The role will be 80/20 split, 80% clinical and 20% non clinical. The non clinical aspects will be focused on Quality Improvement and Leadership for Acute Medicine.

This is an ideal opportunity to work in a busy but well supported department with a team of highly motivated consultants and residents. The successful applicants will gain experience across a wide variety of medical conditions and will have access to the full range of in-house educational opportunities afforded to other trainees.

These posts will be well suited to those looking to bridge the gap between core and speciality training or for trainees who simply wish to gain more experience in Acute Medicine. Our department has a well- developed front door admissions avoidance service as well as integrated services such as Hospital at Home.

The successful applicants will be able to participate in the department's teaching, audit, and educational activities.

The Senior Clinical Fellow will primarily be based on the Acute Medicine wards and areas contributing to the on call rota. They will enable rapid discharge and provide timely review of patients under their care.

The post holder will participate in Acute Medicine ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings. Working with the ward MDT and community teams they will develop person-centred plans for the management plans for in-patient care and post-discharge.
