A leading NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow to join their Acute Medicine team. The role involves assessing and treating patients, contributing to emergency care services, and engaging in teaching and quality improvement activities. Applicants should have experience equivalent to IMT3, possess MRCP and ALS certifications, and hold GMC registration at application time. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated doctors to deliver the very best level of patient care in our Acute Medicine team. As a Senior Clinical Fellow (SCF) you will play a key role in assessing and treating patients, delivering a core part of UHCW’s unplanned and emergency care service.
The SCF team provides essential middle grade (Tier 2 / Specialist Registrar level) within the Acute Medicine department. The core of this work is to deliver patient care in the Acute Medicine footprint, including Same Day Emergency Care service, as part of a rota including day, evening, night and weekend shifts. The SCF team are encouraged to be involved in teaching, service improvement and leadership and managerial activities.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic doctor with considerable experience in acute medicine, for an initial 12‑month fixed‑term appointment. Applicants should have extensive previous experience in Medicine to the equivalent of IMT3, possess MRCP and ALS, and full registration with the General Medical Council is required at time of application. The post will be based in the Acute Medicine facility consisting of 64 beds, incorporating an Acute Medical Unit, two short‑stay wards, a Medical Decisions Unit and an Ambulatory Emergency Clinic. The unit has 14 full and part‑time Consultants. The post holder will be encouraged to participate in educational and quality development activities (including audit) and will have opportunities to undertake research projects. The post holder will be expected and supported to continue their development towards further roles and responsibilities, and through the CESR process.
