A regional specialist unit for critical care is seeking a professional to contribute to a full-shift system in paediatric Critical Care. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years in approved SHO posts within paediatrics or an allied specialty and ideally possess MRCPCH. The role involves managing unwell children and providing out-of-hours cover. Commitment to diversity in applications is encouraged.
We are a regional specialist unit for Nephrology (EMEESY Network covering the East of England), Major trauma, Burns, Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Spinal surgery, as well as supporting patients with general medical conditions.
CoMET transport service is shared between Nottingham and Leicester paediatric critical care teams and has been based at the Castle Donnington base since November 2023. We offer advice, stabilisation and transfer for children at seven regional district general hospitals travelling by road or helicopter (in conjunction with The Children’s Air Ambulance).
You will contribute to a Critical Care full‑shift system with out‑of‑hours cover dedicated to PICU and may develop CoMET experience.
Maximum 48 hours per week. The purpose‑built Paediatric Critical Care Unit has capacity for 18 children and is commissioned for 14 beds, including level 2 and 3 patients. Approximately 5–600 admissions per year.
The quoted salary will be on a pro‑rata basis for part‑time workers.
