A healthcare provider seeks a Senior Clinical Engineer in Dorchester, UK. This role involves independently maintaining and calibrating high-value medical devices while supervising staff. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant technical qualification and experience in medical device management. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, ordering necessary parts, and advising on the safe use of equipment. As a Senior Clinical Engineer the post holder will be required to independently undertake commissioning checks, calibration and maintenance of new devices and equipment including syringe pumps, diathermy machines, ventilators, anaesthetic machines and defibrillators. The post holder when required will supervise Clinical Engineers, trainee Clinical Technologists and Equipment Library Technicians. The post holder will also be responsible for demonstrating new equipment and devices to clinical staff and updating service records accordingly. He/she will become a lead in medical device connectivity as the technology advances across the Trust e.g. through our E.P.R system.
