Thomas and Co International is seeking a Senior Client Accountant to join our hybrid/remote finance team in Greater Manchester. You will manage a small client portfolio, prepare accounts, CT returns, VAT, and review client tax work for accuracy.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and be receptive to honest feedback.
• Pursuing an accounting qualification.
• Proficient with cloud accounting apps and Xero/DEXT.

Responsibilities

• Managing a small portfolio of clients.
• Preparation of accounts, corporation tax returns, P11d, management accounts, and accountant’s references to review stage.
• Reviewing Director self‑assessment tax returns and client‑prepared VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Managing complex client queries, identifying new service opportunities, and flag scope creep to the Client Manager.
• Providing feedback on bookkeeping errors, reviewing VAT returns prepared by Accounting Technicians, and ensuring timely submission.
• Completing delegated Xero/Dext training, and enhancing client value through regular reviews, training and proactive insights.
