Main duties of the job

In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end process for commercial home delivery of medicines, including purchasing, receipt, charging, and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Trust policies. You'll supervise daily operations within the pharmacy office and provide leadership support in the absence of the Pharmacy Homecare Manager. A key part of your responsibilities will involve coordinating workload allocation and contributing to the development of future homecare services. To succeed, you'll need excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as you'll collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-focused services.

Job responsibilities
  • To supervise and carry out all necessary procedures relating to the purchasing, receipt charging and invoicing of all commercial home delivery of medicines and associated sundries on a daily basis for the Trust.
  • To manage the workload of the pharmacy office in the absence of the Pharmacy Homecare Manager.
  • To support with allocation of workload related to future services that the Homecare Team will be undertaking.
Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of the full range of office procedures gained by practical experience and by competency based in-house training
  • Awareness of the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology
SKILLS
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS
