Job summary

Salford Council is seeking a Senior Cleaner to join our facilities team. You will clean the building to a high standard, including buffing, sweeping, vacuuming and other general domestic cleaning duties on a permanent, all-year-round basis.

Shifts are mornings, 11.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer competitive pay, LGPS pension, discounts, Cycle to Work, reduced gym membership and Health and wellbeing package.

• Experience in cleaning or domestic duties preferred.
• Able to work Monday to Friday mornings.
• Good attention to detail.

Job description

Working Hours: 11.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 6am to 8:15am

Contract Type: Permanent, All Year Round

About the role

You will clean the building to a high standard ensuring that it is a pleasant environment for visitors and staff. Duties will include cleaning, buffing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning and other general domestic cleaning duties.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50 (£41 for checks completed from 5th October 2026). The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month (£10.25 per month from 5th October 2026). If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50 (£41 from 5th October 2026).
