The Role

We are looking for an experienced professional to work within our Specialty division as a Senior Claims Operations Analyst and drive forward our claims reporting offering.

You will be responsible for the creation and management of all claims reporting and data analytics within Howden Specialty Claims.

You will provide the first line of defence, for the Team on all reporting and data matters and act as the primary interface between claims and the central MI team as well as other data and analytical teams within the Group.

What you'll do
  • Execute all claims reporting requirements such as the development and maintenance of claims operations dashboards, production of management information to senior management, and monthly reporting

  • Utilize advanced tools such as SQL, Python/R, and BI platforms to extract and manipulate data into operational insights

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards

  • Implement and monitor data quality controls across claims systems and within Specialty Claims

  • Work with the claims operations team to align data initiatives and projects with business goals and support or lead data driven projects

  • Engage with other data and reporting teams and stakeholders across the Group

  • Establish consistency in reporting where possible across the various teams within Speciality Claims

  • Provide operational support to the Specialty Claims Teams

  • Assist with the implementation of operational initiatives

  • Contribute to operational plans for the department to meet its business targets

  • Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required

Who we're looking for
  • Background in maths/statistics/sciences

  • Experience working with in an operational MI/data analytics role

  • Experience in the Specialty Insurance sector; London Market and or globally and with a focus on claims

  • Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI, tableau

  • Ability to design interactive and insightful visualizations for stakeholders

  • In-depth experience with MS Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication skills for presenting data insights to non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • A team player, able to contribute at all levels

  • An engaging and inquisitive personality, always looking to solve problems and find solutions
