The Role We're seeking an experienced professional to join the Sports Claims Division in a senior capacity. Acting as a central link between clients and insurers, you'll oversee complex and high-value claims to ensure they're managed promptly, accurately, and in line with regulatory expectations. This position focuses on liability and complex claims, including property and personal accident. As a senior team member, you'll manage your own portfolio, provide technical guidance, support process improvements, and help develop junior colleagues while maintaining high service and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of liability and complex claims, including property and personal accident cases, liaising with clients, insurers, and third parties
  • Prepare and present detailed claims documentation to underwriters and respond to technical queries
  • Negotiate settlements to deliver fair and efficient outcomes for clients
  • Oversee delegated authority contracts and monitor costs effectively
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records across internal systems
  • Provide clear advice and regular progress updates to clients
  • Contribute to business projects and team initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal company procedures
  • Supervise claims processing, collections, and payments
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders

About You

  • Strong background in handling liability and complex claims, ideally within a broker or London market environment
  • In-depth understanding of insurance principles and claims-handling practices
  • Working knowledge of the Lloyd's and company markets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Confident making independent decisions and solving problems effectively
  • Commercially aware with strong analytical ability
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to work

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level standard (grades A-C or equivalent)
  • Working toward professional qualifications (e.g. CII) preferred but not essential
