Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a civils background to join the Peterborough team. The role delivers commercial leadership, cost control, and robust reporting across projects, ensuring contract compliance and risk management.

The successful candidate will drive value through procurement, forecast cash flows, and mentor junior commercial staff within a supportive project team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction and civils projects.
• Familiar with IChemE/ NEC contracts and Construction Law.
• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
• Monthly forecasting and cost analysis experience.
• Excellent communication and numeracy skills; proficient with MS Office.
• Able to manage tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project commercial performance and reporting.
• Prepare monthly CVRs, cost plans and commercial plans.
• Manage applications for payment and final accounts.
• Negotiate subcontract procurement and post‑contract management.
• Provide commercial governance and risk/opportunity management.
