SCS Jv Railways in London seeks an experienced civil engineering professional to develop design, method statements, and cost plans for shaft-related works. You will manage site resources, supervise the team, and coordinate with QS, design, and client teams to maintain schedule adherence.

Role requires knowledge of construction contracts, strong communication, and ability to mentor site staff. Permanent contract with a London site, relocation not indicated.

Qualifications

• Degree level or HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing and best practice
• Knowledge and understanding of working to and implementing construction contracts
• Ability to use initiative based on engineering and practical experience
• Capable of working independently and proactively and collaboratively with others
• Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication style to suit receiver
• Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management

Responsabilités

• Develop the design, construction methodology, programme and cost.
• Prepare for the delivery of the works, including resources, procurement, consents, and pre start documentation.
• Manage, supervise, train and mentor the site team to enable optimisation of their work.
• Review contracts and develop detailed site programmes and forecast budgets.
• Be familiar with subcontractor contracts and manage subcontractors' accounts with QS team.
• Requisition resources to ensure they are available and do not impede the programme.
• Communicate non-conformances and instructions to the Construction Manager, QA and QS teams.
• Keep a full daily site diary with changes, attendance and discussions with Client/Designer/RE/Project Team.
• Ensure inspection/test plans, risk assessments and method statements are implemented.
• Demonstrate commitment to Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
• Implement Safety Management System requirements within their area.
• Ensure access to Health and Safety and Environmental policies for team and stakeholders.
• Internal liaison with Construction Manager, Design and Engineering Team, QA, and Cost Control.
• External liaison with HS2, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Understand client and JV Environment and Sustainability policies and ensure requirements are implemented.
