Overview

Senior Civil Engineer - Development Infrastructure | London (Hybrid)

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE) • Location: London - Hybrid (office-based with flexible WFH options) • Permanent | Full Time

We're seeking a Senior / Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing civil engineering consultancy in their London office. You'll be part of an established Infrastructure team delivering high-quality designs for major residential, commercial, industrial and energy projects across the UK. Projects range from small strategic sites to developments of several thousand homes, and include design elements such as access, highways, drainage, earthworks and levels. You'll collaborate closely with Transport Planning and Flood Risk specialists, seeing schemes through from feasibility to construction.

What You'll Do
  • Support senior and principal engineers in delivering a wide range of infrastructure design projects.
  • Undertake and coordinate drainage, highways and earthworks designs using MicroDrainage/Flow, AutoCAD, and Civils 3D / Site 3D.
  • Prepare drawings, calculations and reports for S104, S38, and S278 technical approvals.
  • Assist with concept and detailed design of drainage and levels strategies, Flood Risk Assessments, and utilities statements.
  • Carry out due diligence reviews to support land acquisitions.
  • Work collaboratively with junior engineers, checking and reviewing drawings to maintain high technical standards.
  • Ensure work is delivered to programme, budget, and quality requirements.
What You'll Bring
  • BEng/BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.
  • 4-10 years' experience in development infrastructure design (residential experience preferred).
  • Proficient in MicroDrainage/Flow and AutoCAD (Civils 3D / Site 3D desirable).
  • Working knowledge of Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB, and CIRIA C753 (SuDS Manual).
  • Experience preparing or supporting technical approvals for S104, S38, and S278.
  • Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
