Job summary

Transport Scotland in Scotland is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer to support the A9 Dualling programme's delivery. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget, aligning with programme objectives.

The role involves procurement, governance, and contract management, plus liaison with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to progress design, procurement and construction through all stages.

Responsibilities

• Undertake procurement and contract management in line with public procurement legislation and governance.
• Manage day-to-day delivery of major transport projects through all development and construction stages, ensuring on time, within budget and to quality.
• Review engineering designs, technical reports, specifications and submissions by consultants and contractors.
• Prepare and maintain project governance documentation, including project plans and business cases.
• Manage project budgets, expenditure and forecasting, ensuring value for money.
• Monitor consultant and contractor performance, including progress, quality, cost and programme outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government, local authorities, consultants, contractors and landowners.
• Represent Transport Scotland at stakeholder meetings, public events, site visits and consultations.
• Draft responses to enquiries from stakeholders, the public, media and elected representatives, including FOI requests, Ministerial correspondence and Parliamentary Questions.
