Job summary

Strata Consulting Limited seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to support a growing portfolio across commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments in the UK. This part-time contract role offers flexibility and rolling opportunities, with Outside IR35 scope to enable independent delivery of civil schemes.

You will design and review drainage, highways, external works, and surface water strategies, coordinate with architects and developers, and ensure compliance with UK standards and regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' civil engineering experience within the UK.
• Proven experience working on UK-based development projects.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, and/or mixed-use developments.
• Strong understanding of UK civil engineering design standards and regulations.
• Experience with infrastructure design, including drainage, highways, and external works.
• Proficiency in relevant civil engineering design software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• Available to work on a part-time, contract basis.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver civil engineering solutions for mixed-use, commercial, and industrial developments.
• Prepare and review civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
• Contribute to the design of infrastructure, including drainage, highways, access roads, and external works.
• Support surface water drainage strategies, including SuDS design, where required.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, developers, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations, and industry best practice.
• Assist with planning applications, technical approvals, and detailed design submissions.
• Manage assigned tasks independently, ensuring work is delivered to agreed deadlines and quality standards.

We are working with a multidisciplinary civil engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support a growing portfolio of projects across the commercial, industrial, and mixed-use development sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Civil Engineer looking for a flexible, part-time contract role on a rolling basis, working on a diverse range of UK development projects.
