Advance TRS is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing Water team in Bristol, working on water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects. The role covers leading design teams, delivering full lifecycle design and providing technical leadership.

Key qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree and Chartered status (or working towards Chartership) with proven senior water-sector experience. Hybrid working and a competitive package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards Chartership.
• Senior-level water-sector experience.
• Strong experience in water/wastewater design including hydraulics and treatment schemes.

Responsibilities

The Role

• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, taking responsibility for civil engineering design.
• Deliver feasibility, outline and detailed designs, reports and technical specifications.
• Work across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage design through to delivery.
• Develop sustainable solutions focused on cost, carbon efficiency and technical performance.
• Build strong relationships with major water-sector clients.
• Support project planning, commercial delivery and stakeholder management.
• Ensure projects meet H&S, environmental and technical standards.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to junior engineers.

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or working towards Chartership with ICE, CIWEM or equivalent.
• Proven senior-level water-sector experience.
• Strong experience in water/wastewater design, ideally including hydraulics and treatment schemes.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Eligible to work in the UK without restrictions.
