My client are an award winning, employee owned Design Consultancy with offices across the UK. The business has grown from strength to strength over the last 60 years and due to another increase in workload, an opportunity has arisen in their busy Leeds office for a Principal or Senior Civil Engineer to join their team.
They are well known locally for working on projects like Tetley Brewery redevelopment, Wellington Place masterplan, City Reach on Kirkstall Road, as well as many other high-profile mixed-use city centre developments and they also work for a number of local healthcare Trusts and education establishments.

Role Summary

The role will involve Project delivery while we continue to grow our team. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of building something that is destined for success.
Independently leading on the delivery of a wide variety of project types including client liaison, financial management and quality management.
Supporting and mentoring other Engineers and Technicians in the development of their design and project information.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the delivery of a wide variety of project types including client liaison, financial management and quality management.
• Support and mentor other Engineers and Technicians in design and project information development.
• Execute engineering design of public realm and new development infrastructure with technical design excellence.
• Manage relevant approvals processes for highways, earthworks and drainage design/adoption, including SuDS, and follow section 38s, 104s & 278s within development-led projects.
• Lead on projects incorporating client liaison and developing new & existing business relationships.
• Mentor more junior staff and take a leading role on projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering design of public realm and new development infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of highways, earthworks and drainage design/adoption, SuDS and relevant approvals processes.
• Experience with roads and drainage design in accordance with section 38s, 104s & 278s within development-led projects.
• Proficiency using Civils3D, MicroDrainage and PDS software.
• Project delivery experience with the ability to work independently while the team grows.
• Experience managing people and projects and helping a team become a more established team quickly.
