Job description

Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Full time from our office in Trafford House, M32 0RS.

Occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid.

Working from home: Possible on occasional basis when required provided agreed in advance. Possibility of agreeing 1 or 2 days from home after the first 3 months for a strong candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
• Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team
• Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
• Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications.
• Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
• Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
• Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
• Estimate hours required for design packages
• Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar

Experience Required Qualifications & Experience

• 10 years' relevant design experience in the water industry
• Graduate, HND or significant experience from Technician level
• Good level IT
• Registered with professional body and working towards chartership

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered engineer
• Experience with both clean and dirty water
• Awareness of construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices.
